Oh the memories

Dad to the rescue!!!!

About 20 + years ago, when I was a little girl I had the same misfortune Jenna seems to be having in this picture. I decided to sit my bum in a chair that had a hole much too small for my bum. Consequently, somewhere in my parents' boxes of pictures there is one of me with my dad helping me by kicking my bum out of the chair. I was literally stuck. So when Jenna found herself in this predicament, I couldn't help but laugh and reminisce.

Temple Lights

The ride back was not so exciting.
Trying to get a family picture in front of the temple is near impossible when the temperature is down in the teens and everyone is tired and hungry.

What a cute snow bunny.

Well, at least Kara and Tyler are happy.

Jenna was excited about the trax ride into Salt Lake

After Christmas Brent and I decided to take the family, along with our good friends the Tanners, to Salt Lake to see the Temple Lights. I had no idea how cold it was going to be, but we still had a good time. Well, at least most of us did. you will find pictures of some of us smiling, some of the time.

OH NO!!! WE now have a Rockstar in our midst.
Tyler hugged Jenna after she so excitedly gave him his "boy smelly stuff."

And what do you get a 14 year old girl? Clothes, Clothes, and more clothes. But because Kara was not here to shop with and because you don't just buy a 14 year old any type of clothes, Kara received a gift card to go shopping with friends.

Here is Kara showing off her newly acquired shoes. They are almost a little to "sexy" for her. She's growing up too fast.

I have to tell you, Christmas is never truly Christmas until the whole family is together. Kara and Tyler arrived on the 26th and we were able to celebrate all over again. Jenna was so cute. She went to the store with Brent and took her $10.00 that she had earned doing chores. She bought Kara some lip gloss and Tyler some "boy smelly stuff" (body wash). She spent all but $1.00 on her siblings because she wanted to give them something.

I'm not sure what Santa was thinking, but he gave Jenna make-up and hair color, which she liberally put on about every 2 hours--just in case it was rubbing off.
Hannah--relaxing after a rough morning of opening presents.

Jenna and her Tinkerbell doll

Jenna and her "computer". It is a Leapster 2 that has games that teach her letter and number recognition and beginning math. She loves to play her computer.

When Hannah opened her train from Grandma and Grandpa A, she was not interested in anything else. So Jenna proceeded to open the rest of Hannah's gifts.

Go Hannah Go!!!

Hanna loved her new animal puzzle.

Princess Barbie and the Diamond Castle--this is just what Jenna wanted!!!

Hannah and her baby.

Jenna loves to do crafts and we are so glad Santa brought her a craft table and a whole bucket of markers, paints, glitter, etc, so she can craft away.

Christmas Morning finally came. Jenna had been gluing her cotton balls on her countdown Santa and had been waiting anxiously for this day to arrive. She and Hannah had a glorious time helping each other unwrap presents. My favorite part had to be when Jenna gave Hannah a present she had bought for her little sister with her very own money. Jenna had gone to the store with Brent and took all her dollars with her. She bough Kara lipgloss, Tyler some man-smelling body wash, and Hannah-a Dora bouncy ball. All of her money was gone, but she sure was proud to give her brother and sisters a gift. Though we did not have Kara and Ty here on Christmas morning, we did celebrate with them the following day. Stay tuned for more updates.

Christmas Morning

Hannah's favorite gift from Santa was her chair. She loves backing into it.

Despite Jenna's worries that maybe she might not have been as good as she should have been this year Santa delivered.
So much to be greatful for. As I looked about the Christmas tree and waited anxiously for the kids to wake up, I couldn't help but think of how lucky I am. I was the first one up at 6:45 am and had to wait until 8:15 am before I could get Brent and the girls out of bed. I knew the consequences if I woke them up, so I was smart enough to wait until Jenna and Hannah woke up on their own.

Twas the Night Before Christmas.....

And I had two little creatures stirring as Dad tried to finish the story. It was shortly after this moment that my two little creatures were both fast asleep. In fact lights were out and kids asleep by 8:30pm. Yeah Mom and Dad!!!!

EGGNOG--a long-standing Robertson Family Tradition

Jenna's turn at the Eggnog.

Hannah's turn

I am putting these videos on for Grandma and Grandpa Robertson who are serving a Temple mission in Bolivia. They will truly appreciate such a tradition.

Christmas Eve Traditions

Brent read from the Scriptures about the birth of our Savior and did a great job explaining to Jenna why we really celebrate Christmas. Sometimes it is hard for a three-year old to comprehend the birth of a tiny baby over two thousand years ago and the impact He would have on the World.

Here they are dressed in their new jammies.

The famous "Christmas Eve" pajamas.

Our Traditional Dinner of Steak and Crab legs. The Steak dinner is a Robertson famioy tradition and the King Crab legs is something Brent and I added a few years ago. Jenna thought the Crab legs would be "disgusting", but she actually loved it and asked if we could eat it again another day.

This year we started a new tradition. Jenna was given "Reindeer Dust" from her teacher at school and the instructions said to sprinkle it outside so that the glittery red sparkles would guide them to our house and the oats would give the Reindeer some food while they waited for Santa to finish putting out the toys.

My little bird

Hannah love chocolate, so whenever anyone has any, she opens her mouth as wide as possible to make sure not to miss one bite.

Let it snow!!!

Jenna and her good friend, Olivia, sledding down the hill.
We have had a lot of snow over the past 2 weeks (about 18 inches). Jenna has decided sledding is about the coolest thing ever and she particularly loves to sled on her belly.

Jenna the red-nosed reindeer

Jenna had her school part on December 16th. They performed their secret Christmas program which Miss Shaneen later gave a copy to all the parents. The kids played games, sang songs, and had a pizza party. They also exchanged gifts with each other. Jenna thought it was the best thing ever.

Christmas Crafts

Jenna loves doing crafts. Almost on a daily basis she is asking if she can glue something, cut something, or color something. Here she is making her Christmas Crafts.

Cute Little girls.

Libby and Jenna outside of Dance. These two little monkeys have been taking dance lessons for the past few months and they love it.

Hannah discovered her toy basket and determined it was more fun to sit inside it than have her toys inside it.

Decorating

Jenna and Hannah couldn't resistthe temptation of climbing the ladder.
