Birthday Dress

Princess Hannah on her throne!

Grandma Arnold did it again by finding these beautiful limited edition dresses. Southern stores always seem to have the cutest dresses.

Let there be CAKE!!!

Singing "Happy Birthday
Jenna and Alex wanted a candle too.

I really thought Hannah would enjoy the cupcakes more than she did. It wasn't until Sunday evening that I realized what the problem was. These cupcakes, although made with love, did not have the most important ingredient. CHOCOLATE!!!! On Sunday, a friend who knows of my addiction brought me a piece of Triple Chocolate Cake. Hannah devoured as much as I would give her. So next year, I will know: Chocolate is the only way to go

Whirly balls!!!

Leave it to Grandma and Grandpa to give Hannah a toy with 5 colorful balls that whirl out of the top and fly all over the place. I'm sure we'll be able to keep track of all of them.

Hannah was so glad to finally get to play with her toys that she finally decided to open another present. She enjoyed eating the wrapping paper almost as seeing what was inside.

Hannah's choo choo train

The train was a huge hit with all of the little ones.

My only regret is that I can't get the song out of my head.

Presents!!!!

Cousin Corry helped Hannah with her first present. She wasn't so keen on the opening part
And once the inch worm was opened (present from the Prices) she did not want to open anything else. She loved the inchworm, but so did Jenna and Alex so consequently we had to open another present so that hannah could play with something.

And then there was the train. Again, a big hit with Jenna and Alex, so Hannah had to be really patient while "sharing" her new birthday toys.

Happy 1st Birthday Hannah!!!

September 20th was Hannah's first birthday!!!! Jenna decided to go in and give Hannah her first birthday hug. Hannah loves her big sister and is so excited when Jenna gets in bed with her.

Sharing buddies at school

This is Jenna with "Morman" her pink pig and Libby Tanner and her pink Hippopotamus.

On the first day of school, Miss Shaneen had the kids bring a "buddy" so that they did not feel scared. I tried to convince Jenna to take one of her cute teddy bears or a doll, but she insisted on "Morman" the pig. I kept asking her if his name was "Norman" to which she replied, "No, mom, he's Morman the pink pig." Chuckle Chuckle.

My Jenna's in School!!!

First day of school was September 2nd, 2008. Jenna woke up at 7:00 am already dressed for the day. A little disappointed when I pointed out that she needed a bath, she quickly accomodated. Everything was fast that morning. Breakfast-5.2 minutes/Bath-a record 6. 4 minutes./And dressed with hair neatly done-15 minutes. Jenna was ready to go to school by 8:00am. Needless to say, she was disappointed when I made her wait until 10:00am. Miss Shaneen was waiting at the door with a smile and my baby was gone. No hug goodbye. No "I'll miss you mom!" No tears at the door. Just, "See ya mom. I'm a big girl now because I go to school." "You pick me up later, ok mom?"

And that was that. I found myself and Hannah with two hours to run errands, get things done and enjoy our time together. Jenna had a wonderful first day and wanted to go to school "tomorrow" to. She was a little disappointed to find that school was only every other day, but she has survived since then.

Labor Day-Ty's 11th Birthday

My favorite gift to give each year is the ever popular "socks and underwear!!!"
Tyler's Ripstik!!
Family card playing. Jenna was beating us

Can you imagine laboring on Labor Day? 11 years ago Tyler was born and look at him now. We celebrated earlier in August with friends at the Lake, so this year's birthday was just family as we spent time together on Tyler's Day! And as you can see there are no pictures of Ty's traditional Robertson Birthday Cake because I sort of forgot to make it. I made birthday pancakes and then we played games. We went to go get some lunch and decided to barbecue some steaks instead. We got home and I went to "check" on the cake and realized I forgot to make it. So I quickly baked the cake with Kara's help, cooled the cake, frosted the cake with cool whip, put candles on the cake, sang happy birthday, ate cake, rushed Kara and Tyler to the airport and realized that I didn't take any pictures. What can I say, I'm a space cadet.

Labor Day Hike

Hannah loved the backseat ride.
Kara and Ty were real troopers helpin carry the load and never complaining.

What better way to spend Labor Day than hiking to Stuart Falls near Aspen Grove. My neighbor, Andrea Leifson and I happened to meet outside Saturday morning both thinking that we needed to inspire a family activity that day. The problem was that we had little time to be inspirational because we had to work with a schedule. Neither one of our husbands were extremely excited at the prospect of going on a hike due to the fact that the BYU game and UTAH game were on that day. But Andrea and I used every trick we knew. We even convinced our neighbors, the Tanners, to come along. Ashlee Tanner and I had to promise Brad and Brent that we would be back in time for the 4:00pm kick-off. The trek is 2 miles there and of course 2 miles back. Jenna surprised us all by walking the whole way to the falls with the exception of a small rock slide area. Needless to say, trying to get her little short legs to hike back was another story. Good thing we brought dad along, however reluctant. He did the job and carried Jenna on the return trip. You see, he had motivation. The trip to the Falls took longer than expected which meant we were there long enough to snarf down our sandwiches and start back. Time was of the essence because the ever important kick-off to the opening BYU Football game was at stake. Dirty--yes. Hard--yes. Fun--YES!!! And we made it back in time for the kick-off with literally 30 seconds to spare. What a fun day.

Now for the Rest of US

Jenna fell asleep while waiting in line for this ride. They had to wait over an hour for this ride and Brent determined it was not quite worth the tears.
Jason, Corry, Bryant, Bubba, Carolyn and Kara on the "Rattlesnake Rapids"
Jenna and TyTy. She and Tyler have a very special bond.
Lunch Time at Lagoon or as Jenna says, "Da Goon"
Brent, Jenna, Hannah and I went for a ride on the ferris wheel. Who knew Brent was so terrified of heights. :-)
Jenna was quite the dare devil, riding everything she was tall enough to ride.
The Cute Girls--need I say more
Ty, Jenna, and Mom on the "freefall" for little kids. LOVE YOU!!!

Just so you know, there are other important members in this family besides Jenna. We had so much fun this summer having Kara and Ty here. Everything seemed to fall into place.
